*Responsibilities:*
*Resource Coordination: Coordinate day-to-day laboratory resources, including personnel, supplies, and reagents, to meet organizational and operational needs.
*
*Staff Management Support: Assist department leaders with various staff management activities, such as work scheduling, work allocation, staff interviewing, orientation, training, performance evaluation, and performance management input.
*
*Quality Control and Regulatory Compliance: Collaborate with department leaders to monitor quality control and assurance programs and ensure departmental compliance with regulatory accreditations.
*
*Department Goals: Contribute to the achievement of departmental goals related to service, quality, regulatory compliance, financial performance, and overall patient and employee satisfaction.
*
*Operational Improvement: Monitor section activities and data to identify opportunities for operational improvement and escalate areas of variance to department leaders.
*
*Quality Assurance: Understand and apply principles of Quality Control and Quality Assurance while actively participating in Continuous Quality Improvement initiatives.
*
*Policy Development: Contribute to the development of department policies and procedures as requested.
*
*Process Improvement: Provide input into the design of workflows, systems, and processes, and implement corrective action plans to address service and quality issues, driving continuous improvement.
*
*Qualifications:*
*Education: Associate's Degree in Medical Technology, Biomedical Science, Biology, or Chemistry required.
Bachelor's Degree in the same fields is preferred.
*
*Certification: National Certification as a Medical Technician is required.
*
*Experience: Minimum 3 years of experience as a Microbiology Technologist is required, with a thorough knowledge of laboratory methods and microbiology.
*
*Communication: Excellent communication skills, with the ability to effectively present ideas and concepts to groups concisely.
*
*Leadership Skills: Effective team-building, organizational, teaching, coaching, and motivational skills.
*
*Problem-Solving: Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities, along with effective prioritization and execution of plans.
*
*Additional Requirements:*
*Bachelor's Degree in Medical Technology, Biomedical Science, Biology, or Chemistry.
*
*ASCP certification is required.
*
*2+ years of microbiology technologist experience.
*
*Schedule: Nights (11:00 PM - 7:00 AM) & Evenings (3:00 PM - 11:00 PM) with rotating weekends.
