*Purpose of Job :*
The vineyard work will be performing regular routine tasks required to maintain and care for grape vines and can work in all vineyard operations throughout the lifecycle of the vine; from spring pruning to fall harvest, as well as being able to follow all safety protocols.
Previous vineyard experience and viticulture training preferred.
Cellar work involves tasks directed by the Cellar Manager when help is needed.

· Grounds Maintenance, Canopy Management, Erosion Control, Fertilizing, Fruit Thinning, Harvesting and/or Sorting of Wine Grape, Hoeing, Leafing, Perimeter Maintenance, Planting, Pruning, Root Removal, Shoot Tipping, Staking, Suckering, Training, Tying
· Creates a safe and respectful work environment following all safety rules and employment policies
· Winery sanitation and other pre harvest work as assigned
· General cellar work when required could include wine and juice transfers, tank additions, topping, bottling, punchdowns, brix checks, nutrient additions, inoculations such as pumping wine from tank to tank, blending, fining, making any additions to the wines and cleaning tanks and the production room

*Typical Schedule*: Typical work week is Monday-Friday, approximately 40 hours between the hours of 8am – 5pm, with some earlier start times depending on season.
Some night and weekend shifts may be required, depending on harvest and cellar demands.
Weather will also play a factor in your schedule.

A valid Virginia driver’s license
Must be able to work outdoors in extremes of heat/humidity/cold and other inclement weather conditions
Must be able to walk on uneven ground, climb ladders and lift up to 50 pounds
Must be able to see clearly enough to a) drive safely b) recognize employees
Must be able to work long hours when required
Must be able to sustain the repeated use of hands as well as long periods of standing, walking and bending
Previous forklift experience preferred
Ability to follow standard operating procedures and adhere to strict safety procedures
Punctual, responsible and motivated; Candidates must be eligible to work in the US
