1940 Packard 110 Club Coupe For Sale.
French blue, 3 speed column shift.
Original engine and transmission.
Car underwent a rotisserie restoration (taken down to bare metal – see pics) that was completed about 1980.
I know the history of the car back to the 70s.
It’s been a Virginia and Tennessee car its whole life.
My father and grandfather both owned the car, with my grandfather having completed the restoration.
A lot of blood, sweat and tears in this car!
I acquired the car in 2018 (see pics leaving TN and coming back to VA).
I did some work to it to get it back on the road and we have enjoyed it over our 5+ years of ownership.
However, we’ve reached a point where we want something a bit more “cool” and more modern.
I’ve toyed with the idea of doing a resto-mod, but can’t bring myself to do so given just how original this car is.
I know Packard purists would not be pleased, and given the emotional attachment, I’m not sure it’s the right thing to do.
So, I’ve made the difficult decision to sell.
The car DOES currently start, run, drive and stop.
The car does need more work.
It’s a beautiful car.
Looks amazing from 15 feet and good from 10 feet.
Upon close inspection, the age of the restoration and needed work does show.
Tires are dry rotted as are valve stems, of which two have a leak.
Will hold air long enough to show, move in driveway and load onto a rollback.
$24,000 is to get the conversation started.
I will absolutely accept that for the car, but know it might not be worth that to potential buyers as the market for pre-war cars is limited.
So, come see it, let’s talk about the price and let’s get this wonderful car sold to a good home!
