Atrium Management Company is a property management/development company with properties located throughout Florida and Virginia.
The company has experienced tremendous growth and is looking to align itself with an exceptional Multifamily Property Accountant.
The Multifamily Property Accountant reports directly to the Controller, and is expected to make bookkeeping, teamwork, and customer service their top priority.
The Multifamily Property Accountant is responsible for the following duties:
Preparing final monthly financial reporting in accordance with deadlines and requirements
Reconciling bank statements by comparing statements with general ledger
Preparing replacement reserve draw requests
Tracking lender reporting requirements
Preparing and posting journal entries as required
Coordinating the approval, coding, and payment of property payables
Processing tenant notices to vacate
Preparing an accounting of the tenant's security deposit upon move out
Processing owner distributions/contributions
Supporting the Accounts Payable department
Preparing and maintaining corporate bill-back schedules
Assisting with various administrative tasks and projects as assigned
Researching problems as required
Ensuring all documentation is stored and organized on shared company drives, or as outlined by senior management
Assisting and coordinating audit information and requests
Maintaining a professional, courteous manner with a customer service aptitude
Following established company policies and procedures
Collaborating with property management team to analyze tenant/owner ledgers, research and resolve questions
Assisting in year-end tax preparation and owner statement generation
Reviewing key financial data in legal documents including management agreements, leases, tax documents, etc.
for proper set-up in accounting software, collaborate with property management team to adjust as necessary
Continually improve the automation of the accounting and reporting process
A successful candidate should have:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance (required)
2-3 years minimum of property accounting experience (required)
2 years of Multifamily industry experience (desired)
Solid experience in MS office products with excellence in Excel and other accounting platforms
Strong oral/written communication skills
Ability to work well under pressure, establish priorities, multi-task, and meet deadlines
Ability to work independently and with a team in a fast-paced and high-volume environment with an emphasis on accuracy and timeliness
Ability to perform mathematical computations such as percentages, fractions, addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division quickly and accurately.
Experience with RealPage is strongly preferred
