Job Summary
The Premium Auditor completes, under limited supervision, all assigned premium audits in an accurate and timely fashion.
Duties and Responsibilities
• Continuously exhibit and uphold Core Values of Integrity, Accountability, Communication and Teamwork, Innovation and Customer Service
• Complete physical, virtual, and mail premium audits for assigned accounts within established guidelines and best practices with minimal oversight
• Follow all industry, state, and company guidelines in the completion of audits
• Notify internal (Underwriting, Actuarial, UW Services, Finance) teams of concerns with assigned accounts
• Research, respond to and revise (when appropriate) disputed audits
• Schedule and perform year end audits and cancellation audits on assigned accounts
• Respond to underwriter, insured and third-party partners requests and questions regarding premium audits
• Examine policyholder records (i.
e.
, financial and operational documentation) to establish the actual exposure basis
• Verify risk classification and class codes of policyholder operations
• Prepare detailed report of audit results
• Interview external client contacts (i.
e.
, accounting dept at insured; broker; CPA firm of insured; payroll / bookkeeping company of insured; etc.
) for required audit documentation
• Communicate audit results to internal and external client contacts
• Perform other duties and assignments as directed by department management
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
• Knowledge of general business, insurance, and accounting principles
• Basic knowledge of insurance premium audit operations
• Strong analytical skills
• Ability to exercise sound judgement in making critical decisions

Experience and Education
Premium Auditor
• High School diploma required
• Associate or Bachelor’s degree preferred
• Minimum of two years of work experience in customer service or office environment, with emphasis on previous auditing duties, required
Senior Premium Auditor
• High School diploma required
• Associate or Bachelor’s degree preferred
• Minimum of four years of premium audit experience required
• Certifications (APA, AINS) preferred
