Atlantic Union’s Diversity Summer Internship program is a professional development opportunity for local diverse students to gain practical work experience, helping students become better prepared to enter the financial industry post-graduation.
Students can build professional networks and receive training and mentoring throughout the program.
Atlantic Union’s Finance Intern Program is designed to give college students an introduction into financial accounting.
It is our intent to give the Intern real assignments.
Assignments that stretch the Intern, provide the Intern with valuable experience, and allow the Intern to contribute to the Financial Accounting Department.
Position Accountabilities The Intern is provided assignments that include the entire financial accounting department.
The intern will also get the opportunity to: Shadow and perform different Accounting Operations work.
Shadow and perform SEC reporting work.
Run a selected process improvement project.
Review Tax authorities’ correspondence and coordinate responses.
Shadow and assist in SOX Walkthroughs and other related tasks.
Organizational Relationship This position reports to the Director of Accounting Operations and has a hybrid residency.
Position Qualifications Education, Experience, and Position Requirements Must be at least 18 years’ old Currently working on degree in Finance and Accounting Current enrollment in an accredited college or university is required, and Students must be undergraduates entering their junior or senior year or currently pursuing a graduate level degree Must be available to work a 40-hour week, Monday through Friday Must submit a resume and cover letter highlighting accomplishments, professional and academic goals, and expectations of this internship position Submission of transcripts and two professional or academic references Knowledge & Skills Excellent customer service skills Excellent analytical skills Excellent interpersonal, communication, and organization skills Must be able to function well with indirect supervision We are proud to be an EEO/AA employer, Minority/Female/Disability/Veteran.
